Hi! I've been getting back into working out, and have been watching what I eat a little more diligently. And still the scale won't budge. I've been trying to loose some weight for a wedding coming up at the end of the month and I'm getting really frustrated with my progress. I'm going to the gym 3-4 times a week, playing baseball, and only indulging once a week. Any suggestions of how to make the pounds peel away a little faster??? Help appreciated |

I think yo should eat more often and more good fat. I think you should eat less carbs and eat more protein. Eat 6 times per/day and eat small meals. Eat a lot of fruits and vegtables. Swim, run, and walk a lot. Try to walk, run or bicycle to our work and don't eat anything after 19.00 in the evening. That's my advices to you, that has worked well for me! |

Count your calories, Thats the only way you'll find out how much you really eat. |

I work shift work, and can't count on getting my breaks at regular intervals. I've tried keeping nuts with me, but I find I don't have time to eat them. I've managed to stay away from the treats at work, but since I work overnight sometimes, it can be difficult to figure out how much and when to eat. |

Understand, work can be tough on u when you want to be exact on your kcal. However. If you take all your food from home you can calculate it before you go to work while at home.

Perhaps you can try caloric cycling. The body has an amazing ability to adapt to your eating habits, be it too much or too little. It wants to store more fat than muscle, because the fat does not require a fuel to sustain it. You have to outsmart your body by cycling. I recommend a 3 light days followed by a moderately heavy day, calorie wise. Any more than 3 days, and your body will adapt to the plan and it is worthless. Eat good fats, EFA's is large quantities, because your body will not shed fat if it feels deprived of fat. Good luck, and optimum health.

Good fats generally are liquid at room temperature. Cold pressed extra virgin olive oil, canola oil, grapeseed oil, nuts of all varieties, avacadoes and peanuts which is a legume. If you eat peanut butter, try to use an organic 100% peanuts variety.

One thing to keep in mind, is that if you are working out more - you might be developing more muscle mass...and therefor the changes are now visible on the scale.
I would suggest to get away from the scale for a while ... Make sure to do weight training and cardio work-outs ... and eat well (food low in sugar and fat). Make sure to eat a good breakfast and then something every 3 hour, to keep your blood sugar level in space.
I am sure you will start to see development and changes in your body - either by finding out that your pants actually are a bit more loose on your waist (or more tight around your butt, if you've worked on your badonkadonka muscles...;) ) and shirts/tops look more great on you...
Have fun with it!

I agree with Janie. People get way too hung up on just what the scale says. This site has a great ability to keep track of measurements. Take them everywhere. Use the charting and watch what happens as you train. The weight may stay the same but your body will eventually change shape and makeup with is considerably more important. Use this website to do body fat percentages. http://www.linear-software.com/online.html The last measurement method on the right, what this site calls the Tape Measurement Method, is the US Navy method and is pretty much as accurate as any fat fold algorithm Make sure to use the one for the right sex, since there is a difference. |

Sometimes it doesn’t matter how much you work out or follow a diet, it just doesn’t work and that stubborn fat doesn’t reduce. Having difficulty in loosing weight can also be because of genetic inheritance. The only thing you could do is to watch the calories you consume, drink plenty of water and hope those unfortunate genes don’t have much of an impact. You can try consuming honey every morning with an empty stomach since it is known for its fat-reducing properties. |

Best way to lose weight fast is to do cross fit training. Every minute of your session is split to ensure your pulse stays over 65% for whole time you are in gym. Do a normal warm up for 10 mins on a bike or treadmill then choose an exercise to do for 1 min, (bike, row, cross trainer or run), after 1min you have to complete a normal set of resistance exercises, e.g. bench press or bicep curl, then get back on the bike or runner and do another minute. You then repeat the process for 20 minutes, changing the resistance exercise to cover most major muscle groups. At this point have a 3 minute rest, then do it all again on a different set of exercises and different cardio machine. You dont have to push yourself to the limit, the lack of rest in between will take care of the intensity. The weight training principles are the same as normal, if you lift big weights you get bigger and if you lift light weights you get lighter. Try it and i will be surpried if you dont see a change. |

America is fat because most people are to lazy to take the time to figure out what they are eating. The media is finally educating people to how unhealthy most of the food from fast restaurants really is. It is important to maintain a healthy balanced diet and to stay active. Have you ever asked Dallas doctors about how unhealthy fast food? |
